As the host of Fox and Friends on The FOX News Channel, and the author of the upcoming book “Media Maven: Leveraging All Media for Explosive Business Growth”, Clayton Morris leads a dynamic seminar on the power of social media. Morris has identified 5 key marketing failures that most businesses make in the digital age and how to turn those failures into growth. During his fast-paced presentation, Morris shows business leaders how to “communicate to win” by using the latest tools, strategies and trends in social media and beyond.

Clayton Morris is a social media expert whose experience and sense of humor are showcased in his daily podcast “Today in Social Media” currently available on iTunes. Morris has built a career by using authentic voice on television, and he’ll show you how successful businesses have tapped into that strategy for explosive growth.

Clayton Morris joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in 2008 as the co-host of “FOX & Friends.” He also hosts a technology show called “Gadgets and Games with Clayton Morris” on FOXNews.com’s Strategy Room, which looks at the latest gadgets and technologies on the market.

Prior to joining FNC, Morris worked for FOX 29 in Philadelphia where he was the host of “Good Day Philadelphia.” Before that, he worked in Orlando on the launch of the WB Network’s nationally syndicated morning show “The Daily Buzz,” he was an anchor at WVVA-TV in Bluefield, West Virginia, and he was a political reporter at Montana’s CBS affiliate.

Connected but Disconnected

It is now time to ask this question: Is technology helping or hurting our home and work lives? Have you noticed that technology may not be the productivity tool you or your team had hoped for? In being hyperconnected, do you find your team disconnected? If so, can we right the ship to make sure that we use technology to create stronger connections and a fuller life, rather than a life of streaming meaningless and fleeting bits and bytes?

We have seen how technology can weaken personal and working relationships. Texting leaves us wanting for context, email breaks down personal connections, social networks make us less social, Google dims our memory. But the consequences can be even more upsetting: our brains become addicted to snippets of information but incapable of synthesizing large quantities. Our sleep is disrupted by mobile devices. We work against our body rhythms when we obey the always-on demands of the digital world. We can’t think outside of the box when we are a slave to the inbox.

But it doesn’t have to be. Clayton Morris is a news anchor and technology reporter for Fox News. He is also the creator of ReadQuick, a speed reading app for the iPad and iPhone. ReadQuick was his answer to this very problem: too much information coming his way with too little context. He wanted to read long-form articles but found the demand of the digital age was lowering his attention span. ReadQuick is a life hack, a way to use technology to make you smarter, not dumber.

Morris has studied the evolution of technology and the human brain’s response to it. He presents scientific studies showing the consequences of blindly following technology trends without asking first how it will affect your life, your business, your relationships. His research will help you gain a better understanding of how you can use technology like a human being and not a robot – how you can use technology to enhance your life, your productivity, and your relationships, rather than hindering those precious things.
