MAXIMIZING MIDDLE LEADERS
Senior leaders would love to know that everyone in their organization is fully on board with their vision, mission, and strategies.
Work teams want to understand how what they do contributes to the success of their company and take pride in their work.
The key to both lies with the middle leader that is able to “catch the vision” of the company…align that with their own vision and mission, and then to cast the corporate vision to their team – in the native language of their team.
In Maximizing Middle leaders I share the key elements of creating this alignment that not only delivers employee engagement but fosters a corporate culture of trust, respect, and loyalty as well.
BECOME, ACHIEVE, DO
In August of 2010 my wife and I spent a week in two rocking chairs on the balcony of a log cabin in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. During that week of reflection we realized that while we felt blessed to be enjoying the success we had achieved, it was not the success or life we really wanted.
In Become, Achieve, Do I share the story of our journey since leaving those rocking chairs, and the processes we’ve developed and followed to create the life, career, and success we wanted and are now enjoying today.
Participants learn how they can apply these same principles and processes to:
– Clearly define what success means to them
– Set the right goals to create that success
– Make sure their actions will achieve those goals
– Employ a simple system to stay on track
This goal setting model is excellent for individuals and work teams alike.
I offer this thought provoking message in both workshop and keynote form.
THE MIDIAN MINDSET
Many people start their careers with high hopes, plans, and dreams – only to see them dashed by the forces of life itself.
Busyness takes over, responsibilities and pressures mount, we make some bad choices, and sometimes things just happen and we never felt we even had a choice.
Life was no different for the biblical character Moses. He was given a life of privilege, position, and power – only to blow it all in the heat of a moment.
Forced to flee the palace life he had known for 40 years, Moses found himself tending sheep in the land of Midian. But he was changed by his days in Midian.
He learned to stop running from his past, to not be pressured by his future, and ultimately left there prepared to step into the biggest job of his life – the one he was born to do.
The Midian Mindset is a message of identity, purpose, and hope for us all. We learn what Moses discovered in the land of Midian. We learn to use our life experiences as training and preparation to step into our own destiny – knowing that it’s never too late, and that our best days of impact are likely still ahead of us – not behind us.
